Senior Business Advisor in a strategic sparring conversation

The decisions that matter are rarely made with enoughoutside perspective.

Experienced strategic perspective for founders and CEOs facing important decisions, growth and change.

Both routes are a valid start: the check for a structured starting point, the intro call if you already know you would like to talk.

Not coaching. Operational experience and an outside view for the moments when internal viewpoints are no longer enough.

"Everyone in the room agreed with me. That was the problem."

    What growth does to decision-making

Growth does not make decisions easier. It raises the cost of getting them wrong, while the people around you become less able to tell you so.

Priorities multiply and nothing gets dropped, so the team runs at half speed on everything.

The management team agrees in the meeting and drifts apart the week after.

You carry decisions alone because there is no one at your level to test them with.

Investor, board, or bank conversations get prepared the night before.

Structural problems get treated as people problems, and the same issue returns in a new form.

A sparring partner does not take the decision from you. They make sure it survives contact with reality.

    How this works

    Structured sessions.
    Real decisions.
    Nothing performative.

WE WORK ON THE DECISIONS IN FRONT OF YOU, NOT ON A CURRICULUM

Every engagement runs on a simple rhythm: we agree what is actually at stake, we pressure-test it together, and you leave each session with a position you can defend in front of your team, your board, or your bank.

    01

    Set the frame

A first working session on where the business stands, what decisions are pending, and which of them carry real consequence. No diagnostic theatre, just the shortlist that matters.

    02

    Pressure-test

Recurring sessions on the live questions: priorities, pricing, hiring, structure, ownership, capital. You bring the situation, we bring the outside view and the experience of having been there.

    03

    Carry it into the room

Preparation for the conversations that decide things: management alignment, investor or board meetings, bank and partner negotiations. We rehearse the hard questions before someone else asks them.

    Founding Partner

I have sat on both sides of these conversations. What founders need is rarely more information. It is someone who has already paid for the mistake they are about to make.

    Why this works

    An outside view
    with skin in the game.

Six things you get from a sparring partner that you will not get from your team, your network, or a training programme.

    01

    01 / 06

    Clarity before speed

Most leadership teams do not lack energy. They lack agreement on what deserves it. We start by cutting the list of priorities down to what actually moves the business in the next two to three quarters, and by naming what gets dropped.

    Capacity

We are a small practice, and deliberately so.

Sparring only works when the Senior Business Advisor actually knows your business. We keep a limited number of engagements running at any time. If we are full, we will tell you rather than hand you to someone else.

    Engagement levels

    Three levels of
    sparring intensity

All levels run on the same principle: the same experienced Senior Business Advisor, a fixed rhythm, and no billing by the hour.

Pick the level that matches the weight of the decisions in front of you, not the size of your company.

    Leadership Sparring Check

How well does your business actually decide?

    Your 7-minute starting point

Twenty-four questions, about seven minutes. It measures the six parts of your decision architecture and tells you which one is holding the rest back.

About this check: 24 questions, roughly 7 minutes. It measures six dimensions of leadership decision architecture (direction, decision quality, leadership team, founder load, follow-through, boardroom readiness) and factors in your role, company size, ownership and leadership setup. You receive a scored PDF report with a decision architecture diagram, an archetype, your primary constraint, an estimated cost of inaction and a 60 to 90 day focus plan, delivered free by email.

Your report is the starting point. In the free conversation that follows, we review the findings together, put them into the context of your business and discuss which level of sparring would currently be most useful.
